Indian Wind Turbine

The Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) is the only body representing the country's wind turbine manufacturers, providing a single contact point for policy makers at national and state level, regulators and utilities. IWTMA's main objective is to promote wind energy in India, facilitate the extension of knowledge in the field and interact with national and global energy bodies.

IWTMA is a founding member of the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) alongside other national and regional associations including the European Wind Energy Association and the American Wind Energy Association. IWTMA is represented on all Committees, Councils and Advisory groups constituted by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), CWET and others, including financial institutions like IREDA.

IWTMA strives to bring uniform national policies on Wind Energy through representations to MNRE and CERC and SERC. Its efforts through state-leel utilities have created industry-friendly policies; and investments towards creating larger capacities in this sector have significantly improved.
